Hey all! I'm reading a brand-new book I recieved a year ago as a birthday gift. About 30 pages in I noticed what appears to be some sort of printing error. It's a light brownish streak across both sides of a page but it does not make the text unreadable. Is this postable?

Good question Elizabeth, I have a wishlisted book with similar printing error.  A couple pages have a gray wash streaked down the page...clearly something in the printing process.  It's present on some of the text pages, but not dark enough to obscure the actual text (light gray under the black ink).

At some point I'm going to have to decide to post it, or offer it somewhere as unpostable...curious to see answers to your question!

I'd consider it postable, but I'd probably send a PM before sending by way of explanation. That way the sender can't claim it's a stain instead of printing error.

If the book is still readable, then I think it's postable, too.

I have a book with a long WL that has black bars on the bottom of some of hte pages.  Like an end of ream marking or something?  I put it in my signature now.  I probably offer it in the book bazaar or one of the genre WL threads and explain the problem. It's postable and I want a credit for it-but I don't want to deal with PMing wishers and cancelling if they dont' want it or getting dinged for it.

A printer error that doesn't effect the reading of the text shouldn't make a book unpostable. But, I would be certain that it looks absolutely obvious that it is a printing error and can't be mistaken as a stain if I was going to post it. If it could be misconstrued as a stain, I'd probably post it in the Bazaar just so I didn't have to deal with a possible RWAP.

Last year I bought a bunch of WL books at Walmart and Blockbuster that ended up having printing errors like you described, very disappointing when you think you're getting such a good price for a HC book that is WL'd.  Made me wonder if publisher knew they were "bad" print batch and offered them to discounters?????
