I'm not sure what to do. I requested a 3 for 1 deal in Book Bazar. I received the package today. The envelope they were in busted open. I received 2 of the 3 books. The one missing is the one that was "ordered" thru the system for the credit, but I received the 2 freebies. So do I mark it RWAP or leave it as "Not received"? I know when it's a multiples order you can mark each book individually, but how do you handle it when it's part of a deal? The system only knows about the one book and I didn't receive that one. BTW, the 2 freebies are not in postable condition, but that's why they were part of a deal.

Technically you don't mark a book received when you haven't received it. What you want to work out on the side (if anything) with the sender is up to you two.

First, I'd PM about the wrapper being opened.  Do you feel it was due to poor wrapping?  Or weather?  I would use that decision in my way of response.

That said, I'm much more likely to be generous with a deal than with FIFO.  More contact, more effort on the sender's part, more wanting the idea of deals to keep happening.

Then, whether I'd mark it received or gift a credit really has to do with the book.  A WL book would need to go "lost" to keep your place in line.

Pretty much what Emily said. If the missing book was a WL book I would let it time out in order to keep my place and then buddy the person a credit.
