Has anyone had trouble with their posts not showing up? I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.  Sometimes it works fine.  It's weird because I always see it post immediately after I hit the submit button, but then when I hit the "back" button to go to a new topic, it disappears.  Or if I hit the "watch this topic" it seems to make it disappear.  Any idea what's going on???

Also, I've noticed when I'm reading posts that some of them say something about how many times it was edited. What does that mean, and how does that work?

Thanks!

Hi Gina--

What browser are you using?  That may be part of the problem.  Rather than using the "Back" button to navigate, try clicking on the direct links (such as "Questions about PaperBackSwap") at the top of the page to get to where you're wanting to go and see if that helps.

Times edited happens when someone uses the "edit" button on their post to change the content -- fix spelling errors, add new information, etc.

I've edited this post once, so it will have an "edited" statement at the end of it.

It's possible that when you hit "back", your browser is showing you it's remembered (cached) copy of that page -- the one it cached before you posted your reply.  You can make your browser to a hard refresh, where it goes back to the server to get info rather than to its cache, by holding down the Control key and hitting the F5 key (CTRL-F5)

I thought I had that happen many times when I first started using the forums. What actually was happening was I was typing my post at the bottom of page one when actually my place in the response line was on a later page.  So to "see" my post I had to click on the button "go to last post" and there it was!  Boy did I feel silly once I realized that, but I'm not on the computer much now that I'm not working outside the home anymore so this is the only forum I participate in.

OMG, I feel like such a doofus!  Jeanne, I realized that was what was happening to me.  My posts were obviously at the end of a page, so I found them on the next page. I was looking at the last post of the person before I posted, thinking my post should be after theirs, not realizing another page followed!  Mystery solved.  I hope.  Thanks everyone!
