A few minutes ago I get a notice that a book on wishlist has become available.  It is not on the instant wishlist so I have to log in to claim it.  I see that I have a message from another member.  It is the sender and said she has it listed on half.ebay.com for $12.00 and she listed it here by mistake. She wants me to reject it.  If I reject it won't I lose my place in the queue?  Doesn't she need to reject it?  Or do I need to accept it and then let her reject it?  I want to work with the send but then I don't want to lose my place in the queue.  Please help.  This situtation has never occurred with me before.

I'm not 100% sure- but I think they have to cancel on their end. I think you are correct in your assumption that if you reject- you lose your place.

The sender must cancel after you accept the book offer (if you have not already done so).

If you decline, you lose your WL place.  Accept the request and PM the other person back to let them know they must click "cannot mail" on their end so you can preserve your place in the WL line.

Don't reject it!  Accept it.  Then let them cancel.  Make sure than any future PMs are sent for the book transaction page so there is a record that this member is doing this.

The sender is placing themselves in trouble with PBS for posting a book that they are not willing to send.  That is really frowned upon.  You may also report them in the lower right corner under Company / Contact Us.  This basically is a red flag that if this type of action is repeated, they will get put on hold.

Accept the WL offer. Then, it's on the sender to decline. Any other course of action will make you lose your place in line, and she can't cancel until you accept.

wow that is some cheek !

I sell on Half, but I would never post in both places.   Nor do I get books here to sell there, btw.   Though I have actually lucked out on some that were *technically* RWP's that actually had some value over there in the condition they were received in here.

But listing them in 2 places ?   Bad for business and PBS.

Definately accept and keep yourself in line for the next copy.

Some folks also list on another swap site.  It is very important that you keep your bookshelf very up to date if you are listing in more than one place.  PBS will let one cancelation go by, repeated cancelations are grounds for being put on hold, if not kicked off.  After all, we all have to click that posting button that says we have the book available and will send it.  PBS takes that promise very seriously.

They are probably just confused by the fact that they cannot cancel and are unaware that if you turned it down it would just be passed along to the NEXT person on the wishlist and they would STILL be unable to cancel. Once you accept it they will be able to cancel on their end so you wont loose your place.
