Posting someone's name is a big time no-no.  Might want to remove it. Not trying to be harsh, really, just giving advice before you get jumped all over. :-)

As for the 2nd question, there is no feedback system. You could note their name and if you ever get another order from them, cancel the transaction, but luckily, you probably won't get another order from them.  Did they give any specifics about what made it the worst book ever, especially specifics that you are 100% sure are not true? You could have them check to make sure it came from your mailing address. If someone else forgot to mark the book mailed, the transaction would have been canceled and would have rolled over to you. If you are absolutely sure of your book's good condition, then that's a possibility.

ETA: I just re-read that you said no specific complaints.  Maybe ask them what the specific complaints are.

It's not good to be pubically naming another member like this on the forums.  You should edit your post and take out the member name before someone notifies the PBS team and they do it for you.

The chance that anyone else reading this has had dealings with this other member is slim to none.  Only a small percentage of PBS users use the forums.  If you feel the book you sent met the posting guidelines, I would not return the credit.  You do need to acknoweldge the PM and reply if the other member is asking for their credit back.  You can't ignore PMs like that but you can report the PMs if they become abusive or unfriendly.

As the others have said, I would remove the members name from your posts. If you are really bothered by the message you can use the "contact us" message to report the person to PBS. Sending nasty messages isn't allowed.

"Note: the Personal message system may not be used for obscene, rude or harassing messages, or sending multiple unsolicited messages to members (this is considered spam).  If you spam by PM and we receive a complaint, you will be warned.  If you repeat the offense after being warned, your membership will be terminated permanently."

People have been suspended for posting someone's name in the forums for a complaint like this.

If you know the book you sent met PBS guidelines then don't refund her credit.  If you are unsure of the PBS guidelines then you need to spend sometime reading the help docs.

It is never ever acceptable to out another member in the forums even if we are feeling a sense of anger and a need for recourse.  We try to be a friendly all-inclusive community, and this kind of defeats that community feeling, ya know?  You are better off reporting the issue to the PBS team under the contact us link, as others have said.  They will take up the issue of the nastiness in the pm if it is warranted.

It might be a good idea to edit your post by clicking the edit button and deleting the information in your thread.

Just lookin' out for you and the other member.

Just as in any other group of people, you will have that "bad apple" here and there. I tend not to throw out the whole bushel because of one or two bad ones. Since it wasn't horrifyingly slanderous and inflammatory, I would just delete the message and not worry about it. There of course is no way of knowing who that bad traders are ahead of time, if PBS knew who they were, they would already be suspended.

PBS does have flags built into the system to tag people that send extra bad PM (I don't think your's really qualifies, that that's just my opinion) people who mail late, mail bad books, etc, and after so many flags, their account gets reviewed, and if needed, suspended until they are made clear of the rules and agree to abide by them.

In this particular case, youhave just earned yourself a flag for post another members name in an inflammatory post, and if someone reports it to PBS before you get it removed, that flag will stay there, and could even cause your account to be suspended until they get time to talk to you. I hope you will remove it as soon as you read these posts.

OOoops: Too late. PBS already gotcha! Sorry for that.

Looks like the OP is sitting a time out at the moment.  Wish she would have stuck around after posting so she could see the advice to edit it before the PBS team had to do it for her.

It was a very short time-out. Her account is back.

I'm sure the OP is a member in good standing. She just didn't realize the rules about outing other members using their names on here. This was her first post after all.
