I did a search for the Patrick OBrian Master and Commander series and got a long list of choices. I ordered one book, but when I went back to look for more in the series , the search function only gave me foreign language copies. why can't I get the proper search to run again?

"Master and Commander" is one of the titles in the Aubrey / Maturin series. Without knowing exactly what search terms you're using, it's hard for us to give you any helpful information. If you post the link that's not working for you, I'll take a look.

In the meantime, you can use this link to see the books in the series that are currently available:

http://www.paperbackswap.com/book/browser.php?s_type=a&k=aubrey&ti=&a=patrick+o%27brian&g1=&g2=&g3=&g4=&g5=&b[]=Paperback&b[]=Hardcover&b[]=Audio+CD&b[]=Audio+Cassette&friends_tag_id=&pd_type=e&pd=&r=n&sby=&oby=ASC&ts=&saved_name=

If that link doesn't bring up about 29 books, check to see if you have any excluded genres setup on your My Account / Settings page. That will affect what you can see in the search results.

Make sure the search didn't reset to unposted copies, sometimes I start out with one category in that field and it changes in between searches.

Also, if you're typing in O'Brian or OBrian that could make a difference.

Thanks for the suggestions and the link!

Can't believe less than half the series is available here, I figured it's been out so long (many since 2000 or earlier) that more copies would be available in paperback.

I suspect that people like me, who love naval fiction and this series in particular, are keeping them on their library shelves.  There are some other outstanding British naval fiction authors out there. Douglas Reeman is one of them. I have a lot of his books, Only his Royal Marines is a series. The others are stand alone.

While I really like O'Brian, my single favorite naval novel is H.M.S. Ulysses by Alistair MacLean. See the Wikipedia page on this book
