An utterly riveting read that twines a budding romance/marriage of convenience with the worst storm in our nation's history. While my heart hoped for the best for Catherine and Oscar, my heart also raced with dread as the hurricane made landfall. Vivid descriptions made the action very real. Both the personal and the historical aspects were equally engrossing. Tender hearts will be wooed by the promise of a second chance at love while disaster enthusiasts will relish its historical detail. It's a double win if you're both. 4.5 stars.

I picked this book up because I like its front cover, seems simple, but so many books miss in that department. The premise of the story seems limited, as though it has already been told or is going to vier into just another romance novel. It does not. The story is perfect in its simplicity with believe-able characters. It shook me and that says a lot, as I read way too many books. I think that it crosses genres, with history, character driven, but builds to a crescendo.
