Peter David must have written this with a TV series in mind. Chuck Simon is like a psionic Six Million Dollar Man and Knight Rider rolled into one, with a giant telepathic dog for a sidekick. In this episode (I had read book 2 & 3 two years ago, hence the jump from 1 to 4), Chuck is up against a teenager with far more power than he has. Unfortunately this teen has grown up with no morals or ethics, just a lust for power and an indifference to life, human or otherwise. Peace-loving Chuck wants to help him, but the Russians want to recruit him, and the powerful teen just wants to rule the world. If classic 50's sci-fi is your kick, or you're nostalgic for the TV shows of the 60's & 70's, you will certainly enjoy this romp.
