If I put the books on my bookshelf on hold, without doing a general vacation hold, will the books on my wishlist still be offered to me?

Your wishlisted books will still be offered to you. But if/when you unhold the books on your bookshelf, your books on you bookshelf will go back to the end of the FIFO line.

I'd suggest doing a vacation hold and putting your wishlist books on autorequest. You keep your bookshelf spot and still get the wishlisted books offered to you.

No, books placed on individual hold will not be offered to you.

IIRC Vacation Hold will order books on your wishlist that are marked as 'auto request' ... if you have credits.

And there's something about FIFO position of books on your bookshelf, such as loosing place in line?  Members retain waitlist position on their wishlist but not their bookshelf???

You really want to use the Vacation Hold, not the individual Hold, for your bookshelf.  The Wish List Hold is very different than the Bookshelf Hold.  The WL Hold keeps your place in line.  You can actually move forward.

The Bookshelf individual Hold causes you to lose your place in line.

I recommend using Vacation Hold, with your WL books on Auto Request.

I'm just trying to take a little break from sending books out but I still want books to be offered to me. I am not crazy about putting my wishlist books on auto request so I couldn't think of a better way than just putting my bookshelf titles on hold. Guess I'll just not worry too much about losing my place in line. Thanks for all the replies.
