In light of recent events in quantum physics -- http://www.livescience.com/strangenews/090123-teleportation-atoms.html -- I've decided to hold a sale honoring that old quantum chestnut, Schroedinger's Cat -- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schr%C3%B6dinger%27s_cat -- to wit: When you place an order from my Bookshelf, you may or may not get that specific book! Just as the Cat is neither dead nor alive until the Observer opens the box, so will your order be neither correctly nor incorrectly fulfilled until you open the mail! To keep the uncertainty flowing, I will re-post the ordered book(s) even though I may -- or may not -- still have copies. To me, this is, to date, the worst sale I have offered. Mark you, there will be more! There is no Tennessee. Last Edited on: 1/26/09 6:05 PM ET - Total times edited: 2 |

Heh. don't mean to burst your fine Quantum Physics bubble... but are you sure you are allowed to do that on this site? In particular, posting books you may or may not have kinda smacks of breaking the rules to me... You might wanna rethink before the site admins apply a piece of 2x4 to your backside for misbehaving... Just a thought. |

Beirdo: I think it's safe to say that these recent "sales" are, indeed, not really sales at all! Therefore, in a quantum world, any action taken against me by PBS site admin may or may not have actual consequences. One wouldn't know until one logged on, which would be the cyberequivalent of opening the catbox (not that catbox, the Schroedinger Theoretical Catbox). Thus: all I have to do to avoid any negative consequence is never log on again! In which case, there won't be any "sales" or anyone against whom to have taken action -- ergo, QED, I am not writing this, you are not reading it, and I never had anything to respond to, since you never actually commented. On top of which, I could be arguing in my spare time. What were we talking about? Last Edited on: 1/26/09 6:06 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |
