What an intriguing book this is! It is a completely different view of the Queen Mother, portraying her as a manipulator of Machiavellian proportions, completely at odds with the popular public image of sweetness and light. Lots of surprises here, from her origins, to her role in the Abdication Crisis, and her reasons behind it. While many of the disclosures are shocking, it does, at least to this reader, bear the germ of truth. This is a must read for anyone interested in the Royal Family, and ou will never look at them quite the same way again! Utterly fascinating reading.
