A WIDKEDLY FUNNY TALE ABOUT THE BRITISH ROYALS "Their right Royal Highnesses take their first steps into their new. less than palatial, residence in a run-down midlands council estate;; The Queen's election night nightmare of a Republican state is taking place with hilarious consequences."

This book's tone and feel made me think of the work of Terry Pratchett, with both subtle and absurd observations mixed deftly throughout.

Surprisingly entertaining, well-written, funny and a good "what if" scenario. The cast of characters not only includes the Queen and Phillip, but also Diana and Charles and their children (written prior to her death), Princess Margaret, the Queen Mother...and a loony cast of new neighbors.

A WICKEDLY FUNNY STORY ABOUT THE BRITISH ROYAL FAMILY trying to acclimate themselves to be just common people, after they are voted out of Buckingham palace!!!

Very enjoyable story full of good chuckles, but with an ending which could all too scarily come true, but for a different country. You'll see what I mean when you read it.

This book is a bestseller in England and understandably so. It's well paced and imaginative. However, it wasn't for me. For those in England, it's probably very funny to think of the royal family living at the low end of the totem pole; however, I am not too familiar with the who's who of the royal family and I'm sure many references and side jokes went right over my head.

But the idea is great, if someone were to write something similar with well known Americans in mind, it'd be funny.

Bottom line: if you are familiar and already understand the characteristics and nuances of royal fam members, then go for it. If not, a certain familiarity is needed for a full appreciation.
