So, I have a question....  I mailed out a book quite a while back that has not yet been marked received....  now, I did not use DC...  it was only going a couple states over...  it will be marked "Lost" sometime this week by the system...  I have been looking and the person that I sent to has only been a member since the day before or day of requesting the book from me...  looks like they posted their initial 10 books or so, got those credits and ordered book from me...  I'm not seeing any sign of them since then....  OK so my question...  how does it work if they never mark my book received, but they really did get it and just never come back here or whatever.......  do I still never get a credit???  How does this all work???

Edited to add... I just went back and checked and it was ordered less than an hour after they joined....

If they haven't logged in for a bit or have requests timing out then the system will deem them inactive and mark your book received instead of lost.

Also you don't know for sure that they 1: have gotten the book and 2: aren't active-not everyone uses the forums and they may be active sending out WL books.  Going by someone's bookshelf is not a good guage.  If people looked at my WL and Bookshelf it would look like I was inactive.  I go months sometimes without adding any books to my WL or posting anything but WL books-which don't show up on your shelf.

If the person has logged in and is using their PBS account-it'll let the book go lost if they don't mark it received.

I had a book enroute to me take over a month to go from OH to MD which is only a day or twos drive.  This person happened to use DC and for some unknown reason they sent it by truck to WA state. Then sent it by truck back to the east coast.  You just never know how long it's going to take.

But if this person is indeed active then it'll mark it received for you.  PBS has their credit basically in escrow.

Ahhh ok...  Thanks for the explanation....  I thought there had to be a way that it would account for it either way...  just to read the help docs doesn't really cover both possibilities....  thanks!!!
