I know I ask a lot of questions but I want to make sure I am doing things right. I recently posted a lot of books and some how a book that isnt in postable condition got posted on accident. Well it is a wishlist book and now it is going through all of the people on the wishlist. Should I just wait for someone to request it and then cancel it? I would feel really really horrible shipping the book out because it is in such bad condtion. I will offer it as an unpostable but I just dont want to send it for a credit. That would be wrong.

Stephanie, you're correct ~ as soon as the order is requested you should cancel it. Since it is a WL book, I would also PM the intended receiver and let them know why you cancelled the order.

some people really want those wishlist books pretty bad and might not care. You should pm the person who ordered it, tell them what is wrong and ask if they still want it. If they say no, cancel request so they do not lose thier place in line.

The thing is is that I would feel awful if I accepted a credit for the book since it is in really bad condition. It has obvious water damage and the cover is very beat up, not postable by PBS standards at all. I want to give this book away for free. I would feel so guilty taking a credit for this book even if the person agreed.

Stephanie, under no circumstances should you accept a credit for the book. However, in this situation I would certainly offer to go ahead and mail the book AND refund the credit to the requestor. (I wouldn't make a habit of this, but it would offer the book to the requestor and give that person the opportunity to offer it free with order later on the Bazaar.) It might help patch things over for your mistake, and the good faith gesture will likely be well-taken, even if the wisher is not interested.

The other option is to just send feedback to R&R and ask them to remove your book from the WL limbo, since it was in unpostable condition.

Michelle, you should NEVER accept a credit for a book that does not meet PBS standards. Period. It is a violation of PBS rules and makes many members extremely angry. Unpostable books go to the Book Bazaar. That's the only place for them.

You can offer unpostable books in the Book Bazaar for free if they order another book from your shelf. That way you are earning a credit (honestly!), and someone gets to read the book :)
