I'm not real familar with using DC. Most of the details that I have seen on the DC mailings have shown electronic shipping received, then acceptance at some PO and then enroute. I have 4 books coming from CA dated as mailed on August 25th. The DC details only say electronic shipping received and nothing else. Does that mean that she didn't mail the books yet?

Not necessarily, they may just have not scanned it at any other PO along the way. I had one that only had shipping info received on 9/2 and I received it today with no updates whatsoever. Hope this helps =)

PO doesn't scan all the time.  I sent a book out Tuesday and the details showed it accepted at my local PO as of last night and today it was marked received  When I looked at the details it wasn't scanned until it was delivered.   Also if I use PBS postage and I drop off at a blue box it doesn't show accepted at my PO, but if I leave it in my mailbox they do scan it.   Also PBS might not have been up-dated. Go to the USPS tracking and punch in the DC number - it may give you more up-to-date info.

Also, since Media Mail is at the bottom of the priority list, sometimes it may sit at the post office a while too, before there's "room in the truck" for it to move on.  A number of mine seem to do that.

Cheers,

Catt

It seems like when I have a book coming from California or Texas they seem to disappear.  I see that first scan and then most often don't see another thing until it says delivered - not necessarily to my door - to my local distribution center.

I had one enroute from California that took a side trip to Vegas.  Stayed there a week and didn't bring anything extra, I think it must have been having a hot time there and didn't want to leave...lol.

Geri, I live in California and I totally agree with you. For a long while I'd mail my books and they'd drop into a black hole only to resurface at their destination. No California scans at all. Now, they go down to Bell, Ca. and drop into a  black hole there .... and finally resurface at their destination who knows how long later. Bell is our Bermuda Triangle.

Very annoying!

Yes, Bell CA -  one book I requested has surfaced in Bell....nothing else has happened.  Patience..sigh....not one of my strengths.

Just means they haven't been scanned along the way yet  - if they were scanned at a PO, then they have definitely been mailed.

I print/pay for postage via Paypal and as I live in HI, my books often don't come up on a USPS scan for 2-3 weeks.  It's just the crazy way of Media Mail

There seems to be  no rhyme or reason to this either. I mailed 3 books on 9/1 by dropping them in the same blue box. Two were scanned Enroute the next day (one actually was received already) but the third one still doesn't have a scan on it at all. Sometimes that happens and they never see a scan at all til it's delivered, and sometimes it's marked received by the recipient even before that scan shows up!
