I've been offering a 4 for 1 deal on the shelf. I had an offer come through, no problem I accepted the offer and took the 3 freebies off my shelf. Well today I went to dig the books out only to find that this person ordered 2 of the largest and heaviest books I have (other 2 are light in weight but large is size). Would it be rude or unacceptable to ask this person for another credit? It's going to be a pretty steep price for shipping. I really don't mind doing the deal, but when I was moving all my boxes around just now I realized that it's heavier them a dirt bike motor I'm shipping as well today!

I think you should honor the deal as offered and chalk it up to experience.

Personally, I wouldn't.   and for 4 books, even at a pound each, the shipping is only $3.55.

I have no issue honoring the deal at all. I offered, I'll accept it. But with that said I really didn't expect one person to order 2 of the largest, heaviest books I have. Either way it's getting shipped today.

BTW This box weights more then 4LBS. One book alone weights about 2.5LBS. LOL I also just learned that it's a collectors edition and sells for more then $100.00 most places! Oh well, what can ya do!

4 to 5 pounds = $3.94

5 to 6 pounds = $4.33

If I were the one taking you up on the deal, I'd have NO idea how much each book weighed.  So that wouldn't be a consideration for me and I'd expect you to honor the deal, as you have done.

I think it's something you need to honor.  If you didn't want those books included in the deal then it needed to be in the deal info.  Most likely they didn't even pay attention to the weight of the book when they ordered the deal from you.

I think thats why some deals are for paperbacks only.  Yeah I never look at book weight, I just want a book so I can read it.
You might wish to look through your books and select really heavy ones to not be included in any future deals.

It's being honored, theres no question there. Even if I was to ask and the person declined I still would have shipped it. I also kinda figured what everyone would say, just threw it out there to see.

On the bright side, I don't have anymore large, heavy books to worry about! yes

wow - 11.5 pounds!!!  Do you mind telling us what the titles were of those four books?  I'm just curious.

The price would have been $6.28!!  That is almost 3 pounds per book!  Woman - you go in for some heavy reading!  lol

Two of the books were "how to books" both rather small maybe 1\4 inch thick, one was (the second largest about 2 inches thick) a book on natural landscaping. The Biggin was "Great American Cookbook"  collectors addition (about 5-6 inches thick over 12 inches tall and about 8-9 inches wide and has a soft HC that was rather thick it's self)

OK After 2 attempts I have given up on the wonky font!
