http://www.paperbackswap.com/forum/topic.php?t=145654&l=25&ls=75#p3780888 I'm offering a 3 for 2 in the genre forum (fantasy); of the three in the series, Book 1 has no copies in the system, Book 2 has one wisher and Book 3 has 4... My question is this - I've instructed the person who might want my deal to PM me and put the last two books on their WL so I can post directly to their shelf (thereby getting my 2 credits and sending out all three). Is this the right way to do it? I guess I'm worried about the timing - if two someones post the Book 2 with only one wisher, my offer taker would get a FIFO copy offered to them. Or if I were to post my book 1, it would get FIFO requested before the deal were to be taken (in which case I could offer books 2 & 3 to that FIFO person, but I've done that & lots of folks either don't have the credits or don't want to risk on an unread series)... Maybe I'm just counting chickens before they hatched, but wondering if this is the most efficient way to do a deal. And speaking of deals - I have all the Tuesday Next books by Jasper Fforde I'd like to offer as a deal, what genre would be appropriate?! You're doing it the way I do it. Just as soon as she says she's put it on her wishlist, go ahead and post it to her. Try to do it when you're both online and have her watch who the book came from. Chances of someone else offering the book in the timeframe you are working with is nil. The other thing you can do, if you're really worried, is have her buddy you that credit. I'm not sure I'd go that route though for this case. As for Tuesday Next, probably Mystery. We have a wishlist thread over on the mystery forum too. |

Thanks, Susan! On the Jasper Fforde front, it's funny - my 5 local half-price books has his work in three different sections: Fiction (2 stores), Sci-Fi/Fantasy (2 stores), Mystery (1)...it was hard to pigeon hole the right place for PBS! I think I'm going to do that one in the Book Bazaar if my postage budget allows, as I also have two of the Nursery Crime series. |
