I have "Gideon" and "Elijah" but haven't started them yet.  As these are a series, would it be better to find and read "Jacob" first, or does it not really matter?  I have read series out of order before as I have come across books and then gone back to read the previous ones, but there are times when it's better to read them in order to have the best continuity.

Also, if anyone has read them, did you like them?  I just saw these today in the bookstore and bought them.  Have never heard of the author before and haven't read any reviews.

ETA: Checked out the author's website.  I like it!  She's an animal lover, so that makes her a good person in my book.

I thought Jacob was an excellent start to a new series, but I found Gideon to be lack-luster. I'm still going to read Elijah though, hoping she picks back up the great storywriting I saw in Jacob.

While you could read them stand-alone, I think they would be better in order, giving a better context of people and events.  Ditto Wendy's comments. Jacob was excellent. Gideon not so much. Yet I do plan to read Elijah, which came out 12/18.

I also liked Jacob much better than Gideon. I haven't gotten Elijah yet to comment on that one.

I really enjoyed Jacob and I have Gideon but haven't gotten to it yet. No matter what it's like I'm sure I'll get the 3rd when it's available. I like the whole demon storyline. Reminds me of Anne Bishops Dark Jewels Trilogy.

I just finished Elija and liked it a LOT. I've opened a thread on that book for those who want to discuss it once they've read it.

One odd thing, on the inside cover of the book, is an advertisement for her other books, stating: "Also available from Jaquelyn Frank" and lists three pictures of book covers:

Jacob Gideon Noah

Then under "Coming Soon", it lists Damien

Noah?!?  Where did Noah come from? Did I miss one?

Turns out Damien is being realeased June 2008 and Noah September 2008.

Damien is the vampire character. He's only had fairly minor appearances in the current books (and barely appears in Elija), but I find him very intriguing. That should be interesting.
