Hi, I just need some information regarding my situation. So, this was my first RWAP, and I got, what I thought was, a sender with an attitude. After a lot of back and forth, I realized that the sender thought that I would automatically get my credit back because I was unsatisfied with this transaction. I explained to the sender that this was not how PBS worked, and that I could only get credit back if she decided that returning it was warranted in this situation. I got an e-mail back from sender saying that PBS told her in an e-mail that they would take the credit from her account once I marked the transaction unresolved. Everything I have read on this topic, leads me to believe that is wrong. I know that PBS doesn't get involved in most transactions and want the PBS members to work it out themselves, so I don't see how that could even happen. I'd already marked the transaction unresolved when I sent that last e-mail out to sender, so I don't think she got the right information, either. But I just wanted to confirm. My question is: does PBS take credits from senders when a transaction is marked unresolved? Thank you. |

I got an e-mail back from sender saying that PBS told her in an e-mail that they would take the credit from her account once I marked the transaction unresolved. AFAIK, she's wrong. They won't step in and take the credit back just for marking the transaction unresolved. That just ends up as a black mark on her file. What they have done is take a credit back from the sender when it's been made clear in PM's that the sender knew the book didn't meet guidelines when they accepted the order, but sent the book anyway. TPTB don't like it when people know the rules and ignore them. Since she seems to agree that you should get your credit back, and she's not clear on how the system works, I'd send a copy of her PM to the "Contact Us" link at the bottom and ask TPTB if they can send her an email explaining how to give you your credit back since she's not believing you when you tell her she needs to do it, and you don't know what she's been told by other people. If they think it's clear that the sender is just assuming you'll get your credit back, just that she doesn't have to do it, then they may step in and do it for her. Or maybe they can clear up her confusion. I do know it's frustrating to get someone to realize that they have to be the one to return it. I had to PM someone with several instructions over a few days on how to return my credit because she insisted that it happens automatically and she didn't have to do anything. Finally, she sent it back, but I don't think she ever really believed it was her job to do all the work. |

You are correct and the sender is wrong. Ask her to copy the email she received into a PM to you. I am guessing she is reading into something incorrectly or confusing this site with one of the sister sites where the credits are automatically returned on a RWAP. |

Thank you for taking the time to respond; it was nice to get it confirmed. I'm not going to bother about the credit, since I have already marked the issue unresolved, but I did want to know for next time. |

You really should take the time to write her again and let her know that you have double checked the Help Center, and that she is wrong in the way she is thinking. PBS does NOT take the credit from her and give it to you. She needs to check her credit registry and she will find that there has been no credit removed and given to you. Once she has given the credit back to you, she will see the credit removed from her registry. If you don't take a stand now, you will only be leaving the problem for the next member coming with a RWAP to have to deal with her. |
