Hi everyone! I'm new here, and recently posted a handful of books that I thought were in good condition. After going over the guidelines for posting books, I decided to check all of them just to make sure. In doing so, I realized that the binding on one of them is broken (I think?). I want to remove this book from my book shelf, but I can't because it's "pending on another member's wish list." Is there some way around this? Or, do I just have to wait until someone requests it, and then say that I can't ship it? Thanks in advance! |

As far as I know...there is no way around it, you can't delete while it's pending. You'll have to cancel the order when (if) it comes through. You can later offer it in the Book Bazaar if it's a WL book - there is a thread for unpostable wishlist books - either for a credit or free with an order from your shelf. |

Yeah when it's accepted just Decline for Other Reasons. If it looks like it's going to time out on the 1st wisher-put your shelf on vacation-that'll put the book on hold-then delete it before you come off vacation. It happens to all of us. I was so happen recently to see an order for a heavily posted book that was on my shelf for 2 yrs. Until I noticed water damage that I had missed before. So basically I stored this book for 2 yrs hoping it might get requested for nothing. |

While it's pending, you CAN pm the WL'r and tell them that you've found a problem with the book, and that you would like them to accept it, so that you can cancel it because of the problem, and of course, apologize for not seeing it before posting it. Make if clear to them that YOU will refuse the request so that they will keep their place in the WL line. Otherwise they would lose their place. Also, when you refuse their request, after they initially accept it, it will then remove the book from your shelf for you. |
