I am thinking about getting Amazon Prime.  I was wondering if users feel that their books get shipped promptly or does it slow down the process because you're farther back in their line because your shipping is free.  I would appreciate any input that anyone might want to share.

I love my Prime. I have never considered your question before though. Its free 2 day shipping so I guess I've never cared where I fall at in the line. It'll be on you doorstep in the 2 business days.

I didn't word my post very well.  I should have said did they deliver on their promise of two day shipping.  So that's good to know.  It seems to take them longer to ship when I preorder than when I don't so I wondered about this.  Thanks.

If it helps at all I ordered two things just this morning and got a text about an hour ago saying that they've been shipped out. Gotta love it!

I will often get items before the two days is up.  That said, I'm actually the secondary on a Prime account.  Whee!  Two for the price of one.

Do check who should be Prime if your household has more than one member.  The Prime should be the person who wants the included free video and music as there can be restrictions on the secondary account.

I love my prime. Also if it does not arrive in the 2 days that they say it will, contact amazon. I've gotten several months extra for free on my prime because things have been a day or two late. They hold to that 2 day and will treat you right if it's not there!

I joined Prime just a couple of months ago.  Love it!  Streaming is very fast without glitches(not so with other companies I've tried); a free Kindle book every month and yes, the shipping arrives when they say it will.

amazon is not the shipper for everything that is for sale on their site, so depending on what you are getting, still might not be 2 days.

I don't use prime but I do find the free shipping delivers when the order says it will for me.  the only time it took forever was because it was coming from china.  But the order did say it would take that long.

I signed up for prime when I needed to get a bulky baby shower gift (Graco Pack N' Play) to my granddaughter in Florida. I didn't want her to see what it was before the shower, so I also ordered gift wrapping for $6.00. She was thrilled...the gift wrap was like a Santa bag except Navy Blue with a yellow ribbon. Two day delivery...fantastic!!

I also love to pre-order upcoming books I know I definitely want to read. If the price goes down before shipping, I get the lower price. I have even received a few cents refund on a book already on the way to me.

I think I more than get my money's worth on prime. No shipping charges and since I live in a rural area; no cost for gas to go shopping and as yet, no tax.

With Prime, you're at the front of the line in shipping, behind only those who pay for 1 day shipping. One of the few downsides (if you want to call it that) is that they ship so fast that unless you order something on a weekend, there's usually no window for buyers remorse.
