I thought that the requester could not cancel after the label was printed. Maybe I'm wrong. I'm interested to see what others have to say. |

They can't cancel a request after you've printed the label. If you sent it with a DC, you've already gotten your credit. They'll just have to accept the book and put it back into the system when they get it if they don't want it. Pat |

did you maybe miss the mailing date? I don't know when you accepted or said you would mail by, but if you used PBS postage and/or DC then they can't cancel. If you used the PO's DC then maybe...but even then you would have had to hit Print Wrapper to get their address which means they can't cancel either what shows in your Transaction archive? |

I found this in the Help Docs....Who can cancel a request and when? It looks like there is no way for the requestor to cancel once the wrapper was printed. Hopefully it helps you out! |

Did you miss your mail by date? You must mark them mailed with two days after the date you said you'd mail it by. That is the only way I can see the transaction being cancelled by anyone other than yourself. If you missed the mail by date you need to PM the receiver right away and tell them you mailed it and they should cancel any other offers they get. When books are not marked as mailed on time, the system transfers the order to the next person with the book in the system (or puts it back on the WL of the requester if no copies are available). If they receive two copies through the system, they are not obligated to mark yours received and you would normally lose the credit even though you sent the book. eta: Actually, using PBS DC might not give you a credit in this instance. The credit happens when the book is scanned. I don't know how a scan attached to a cancelled transaction would give you a credit. Never seen that before. You could lose your credit even with PBS DC if it was not marked mailed in time. Last Edited on: 11/25/08 2:27 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

Did they PM you to ask you to cancel the transaction? Or did it just show up as cancelled? If they just PM'd you and you had already mailed the book you are under no obligation to cancel. If the system cancelled the transaction and it doesn't show up in your Books I've Mailed Tab then you need to contact PBS so they can look into this. Just so it doesn't happen to someone else who didn't use the PBS DC. |
