I ordered a book from someone in the Book Bazaar a few weeks ago in a 4 for 1 deal.  The books were mailed in three separate packages - two of the packages arrived almost two weeks ago, and the third is still MIA.  The 'deadline' is just a few days away, and my question is this:  Should I mark it received since the book I actually ordered has arrived, or should I wait since all of the books haven't gotten here yet?  I thought that maybe since the book I ordered is here, I should go ahead and mark it received and then hope the other package shows up sometime. But then I didn't know if 'freebie' books are included when saying whether or not something has been received or if I should just count those a loss and see if they show up later.

Sorry, this sounds confusing.  I'll edit if I need to.

This is an odd one.  I can't imagine why the books would be split up like that, not that there's anything technically wrong with it.  I would mark the book you officially requested received, but send a message to the Sender explaining that you have yet to receve whatever it is you haven't yet received.   Since you got the book on which you spent your credit the official transaction is actually complete.  Hopefully the last package manages to find its way to you soon!

Those were kind of my thoughts, too.  'Officially,' I received it, and I got the 2 of the 4 that I really wanted, so we'll see what happens with the other two!

Hmm.  That person spent more on postage than the worth of the credit they earned.  The whole purpose of doing a deal is to send them together because the postage doesn't go up much.  Did you PM them to ask them why they did it this way and where the 4th book is?

I wondered too why she mailed 4 books in 3 packages.  I didn't PM her - I just assumed she didn't have a small box and didn't want to wrap them all together.  Two of the larger books came in individual envelopes and the other two are still on the way (hopefully).  I'll probably go ahead and PM her to let her know what's up.  Oh well!

As surprising as it sounds, some members don't know they can save money on postage by mailing books together -- I had a "deal" where each book was mailed to me separately, and when I asked, she had no idea.  :-)

As others have said, since you got the book you ordered for a credit, you need to mark the transaction complete.  Per the Help Center:

"Members often post "deals" or "bargains" in the Book Bazaar, hoping to clean out their bookshelves and earn some credits.   We do not officially support such deals (there is no credit compensation for unsatisfactory or unfulfilled swaps)."

Cheers,
Catt
