Relatively new here and trying to get the hang of this . . . please pardon my ignorance.

When I was posting books to my bookshelf last month, I was using the Wish List to post post books that I had that people were actually wanting.  I know that I posted 6 to 8 that were on the wish list and thought I'd get a response on those.

Later that same day or the next, none of the books showed up on the Wish List any longer.   So I assumed that a notice was being sent to the people on the Wish List that the books were available.  Hearing nothing after a week, I assumed we were getting closing to July 4th and a lot of people were going on vacation.

Now that it's been at least three weeks, I'm wondering what happened . . .

I know it's possible someone else could have posted the same book at the same time, but find it hard to understand that on 6 to 8 books.  I'm unsure about the exact number because they are no longer listed on the Wish List.  I know it was at least 6.

What am I missing ??

I'm a little confused.  Did you post them using "Post Books" under "My Account"?  It sounds like you might have added books to your wish list.  (You can find that out by going to "My Account", "My Lists" and then "Wish List").

Are these books you posted to your bookshelf?  If so then you must have a different ISBN than what is WL.  Sometimes people want a specific binding.  If the WL is for large print or audio then they don't want a hardcover or paperback that isn't large print.  ISBN has to match when posting books. So even if the binding is similar you cannot  post it by a different isbn becuase it's WL.  If say there's a WL for one hardcover version and you have a hardcover posted you could try tagging the WL version with the ISBN of your version  But like i said if the WL is for audio and you have print I wouldn't bother. Because those people want the audio version.

If you are adding books to your WL then those are books you want to receive but aren't available in the system.

I just took a look at your shelf and it looks most of what you have posted is heavily posted in the system. I didn't check every book though.

But like Born in Ice by Nora Roberts is WL in large print and audio cd.  Those people don't want mass market paperback. There's probably 100's of the paperback in the system.

Guess maybe that explains it.  Makes sense.  Thanks Mary

I would also guess that at least one book was wished for by only one person and that person is someone that has abandoned their account here.
