I mailed 2 books yesterday, each with PBS purchased DC. Each book was scanned at the PO. Over 24hrs later I still have not received quick credit. Checking the DC#s on USPS track & confirm shows that both books have been processed through the state's sorting facility and are on their way. I have already used the 'contact us' button at the bottom of the page but this is not the first time this has happened so wonder if others have the nor slow quick credit as well? |

No, I've never had a problem with quick credit. Pretty much as soon as I mark it mailed, the credit comes through. |

I always mail with PBS postage. I get the credit as soon as I click the mailed button. |

I know the USPS system updates at night, so it could depend on the timing that it's not getting to PBS until the second day. For instance, if I mail something this afternoon, and it gets scanned tomorrow morning on it's way out of town, the update to USPS won't happen until tomorrow night, then it gets sent to PBS. So, it's very conceivable that it could take that long. It's definitely not an immediate thing unless you purchase postage. Try to be patient. |

Shelia is right - I've had QC take over 48 hours to credit. Your PO has already transmitted the scans to USPS, which is why they show up on the USPS Website. They then have to be transmitted to our postage provider and then downloaded to PBS. |

Also, if a delivery confirmation scan reaches PBS before a book has been marked mailed, the scan won't register. The first scan received after the book has been marked mailed will generate the quick credit. |

Just once, then not again. It used to matter whether or not you had marked the book mailed before USPS downloads, but I'm not sure it does anymore...they may have solved that hang-up. |

I did get the quick credit as a resdult of contacting TPTB but about 36 hrs after the books were marked mailed and even longer after the PO scanned them. |

Not had that here either, it always comes as soon as I mark them mailed. I'm generally here when the mail comes so I usually mark them as soon as I see they've been here, long before they would ever be scanned. |

Sometimes there are glitches in the USPS to PBS connection, or someone on either side may have made a change and introduced a bug. If you use DC only (not printed postage) and it's been 24 hours since a scan showed up at usps.com (not 24 hours since the scan time, 24 hours since you first saw it) and you don't see that scan record when you click on the Details button on the request on your My Account page, then sending in feedback to report the problem is a good idea. If scan records aren't coming through, then people aren't getting Quick Credit, and that would be something PBS would want to know about and fix. You do need to be patient when reporting these types of problems though. The USPS support line that PBS would have to use is only available during week-day business hours, and they're not very responsive. If you report a scan problem at night or on a weekend, and PBS needs to contact USPS to get it fixed, it's going to take them a while to get what they need. |

My rule of thumb when I am helping members on Quick Credit is that once you see the scan on USPS.com, then look for it 24 hours later on PBS. If the credit isn't there, then send in Feedback. Books can easily go until their Delivery without getting the Quick Credit. |

They installed a couple of patches on the PTS (Product Tracking System) and it should be ok now, according to an update I received at work (at the PO). It wasn't updating like it should have (as you noticed). |

When I use DC for books, I usually have the Quick Credit within a few hours. I don't think i'ts ever been more than 4-6 hours. Glad you did get your credits. Pat |
