If you put your books on hold, does that automatically bump them to the end of the FIFO line when you unhold them?? |

How does the Hold affect your Bookshelf? |

Ahh, thank you, Denise!! |

The above applies only to Vacation holds. If that is what you're talking about that is correct. If you place a book on individulal hole on your bookshelf, it will go to the end of FIFO line. That is not true with wishlist books. Just wanted to make sure that was clear. Nancy |

I didn't realize there was a difference between a regular "hold" and a "vacation hold". Last Edited on: 1/1/11 10:12 PM ET - Total times edited: 2 |

Oh....no, I didn't realize there was a difference in vacation hold & individual hold either!! Thank you for clearing that up, Nancy! I put a handful of individual books on hold today because I put them onto ebay since they weren't moving on here... so now when (and if) I put them back on here, they'll be at the end of the line--oops! Oh well, I guess that's okay because most of them have numerous copies in the system on here which is probably why they weren't moving off of my shelf. |

Individual hold puts you at the end. Vacation hold keeps your place. (The different types of hold were established at different times. They are very different.) |

Thank you, Emily!! I will know from now on how the holds work! Thanks for everyone answering! |

And to add to the mix, placing a book on individual hold on your wish list does keep your spot in the wish list line. |

As Patty noted, Bookshelf holds and wishlist holds are handled differently. |
