I am fairly new here and I am still learning the ins and outs. I recently posted a book that was wish listed and a request came in immediately. Unfortunately the dust jacket is missing. I PMed the requestor and let her know it was missing. I didn't receive a reply but the book request disappeared but is not showing as cancelled. The book is showing up on my bookshelf with the red "W" meaning it is still wish listed. I am unsure if this means she didn't want it and I can send it to the next requestor or should I hang onto it until I hear from the original requestor? I just want to make sure I get it to the right person. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Nathaniel |

Nathaniel, it may be on your Transaction Archive as cancelled by requestor. Go to "My Account" click "Transaction Archive" look for the title with a Red X on the left. Click on the Red X and read the reason. Also if you do not accept a request after 5 days it get cancelled by the system. Also if you do not click mailed by the deadline it gets cancelled by the system. Last Edited on: 7/1/16 11:39 AM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

For future reference, Unless there was an RC when requested, you don't have to worry about including the jacket. Dust Jacket:

Also, take a look as to whether the red W is regular red, or pale red. From the Help Center:
The Red W on a Booklist (your Bookshelf, your TBR Pile) has always meant that the book is on a Wish List. Now, we've created the Pale Red W, which has some extra information. If the W showing is a PALE red, that indicates that there is a wish, but it is not an active wish:
When you see the Pale Red W, you know that you might get a request for that book soon - or it may take a while.

Thank you, Patty, for including this explanation about the red vs pale red W symbol. I did not know about this. |
