I found one or two where the person wrote "I have not read this book." Finding this interesting, I clicked on their profile and discovered that about half the books they had on their shelf had this same "review". I clicked the thumbs down for them all. I won't give the person's name here, of course. :) Why would anyone think this is a review? I did the same thing recently where someone had put in all their reviews "This book has a dustjacket," or "This book does not have a dustjacket." |

maybe they were given the books? I received 4 boxes of books from my parents and that makes up 75% of my bookshelf. while I have read some, I haven't read most of them. although I wouldn't put a review saying I hadn't read it because that isn't a review! Perhaps when they are entering their data they are under the impression that they have to answer every question/enter something in every field rather than just passing that section. |

Reviews aren't required when one posts a book - it's completely optional. Reviews should refer only to the poster's impression of the written content, and not the physical condition of the book. |

Keep in mind when the site first started, there was not all this reviewing and thumbs stuff. When we were NOT a million books, my copy might be the only one. I thought I had to put something in so I put in "I have not read this" So that is why I have a few of those floating around. I'll bet some other oldsters have those as well. This review and thumbs thing is kinda new. |

I think Anne and Bernie hit the nail on the head with this one. |
