Katie has been the party girl heiress since her teens. Gracing the covers of tabloid magazines, being seen on the arm of one guy to the next, and giving her dad fits with tight clothes and short skirts. Lately Katie hasnt been the same. Her big brother just got married and Katie cant help but feel her happily ever after may never come.

Shortly after her brothers wedding Katie is left a 2 week old baby outside her penthouse suite. The note attached tells Katie to take care of Savannah, and that the little girl is now hers while Katie is more than happy to keep the beautiful baby shes a little afraid this is too good to be true. So she tries to hide Savannah while she tracks down the mother and tries to get the legalities taken care of.

Dean is her brothers best friend and the one man she has ever loved. Their relationship was kept secret and the break-up has left her scarred, but when Dean comes sniffing around and picks up on Katies secrets they are forced to deal with each other more intimately than either is prepared for.

The reasoning behind gifting Katie with Savannah wasnt the most believable to me, but I was OK with that. I didnt feel like it was completely out of the realm of possibility And in the end the reasoning didnt matter as much to me as the end result did.

I fell in love with Catherine Bybees writing when I read Not Quite Dating. I have been anxiously awaiting this sequel and am happy to report it met and perhaps even exceeded my expectations. I absolutely loved Katie and Deans story. The tender feelings they still have for each other after their hot and ultimately tragic past can be felt immediately. From page one you are drawn to these two and cant help but be excited as you see them cautiously working towards their much deserved happily ever after.

I flew through this book in a day as I couldnt set it down. I needed to read just one more chapter until I found myself at the last page. Not Quite Mine is sweet and romantic and the kind of book that makes you fall in love with the romance genre all over again. Catherine Bybee is quickly becoming a favorite author.
