I have moved and our mailbox is extremely small. It can fit some envelopes but anything too large gets folded in half.

The big problem being that my WL book was folded in half and placed in the mailbox!

So I want to prevent this in the future with a RC.

Here is what I have so far.... Due to having books squished in my small mailbox, please include on the packaging in Large letters "DO NOT BEND."

I need to know if this is okay or if I need to have it re-worded.

Thanks!

I don't see anything wrong with the RC.  What is the mail person supposed to do if they can't fold it? Leave a note and take it back to the post office?

Instead I'd do this:

I'd just fill out the paper at the post office asking them to hold, not deliver, all packages.  Of course, this might not work for you if you can't get to the post office.

My neighbor placed a large Rubbermaid storage container on the porch and posted a note for the mail carrier to put all packages in the box. She orders a lot of stuff from eBay. :)

I would not have a problem w/ your RC  to put Do Not Bend on your package. You still need to talk with your mail carrier (PO) about your options. Is there no way to get a bigger mail box?

Charity, I think your better option to is to look into/ do what some others suggested.  One problem with your RC is it does not keep the mail carrier from bending it anyway.

I had a previous landlord who did not get in any hurry to grant permission to put up a larger mailbox.

So while waiting, I taped a note to the inside of my mail box....

Something like--

If you have to bend it to get it in this box, please take it back to the post office and I will pick up later.

I would just put in a bigger mail box-unless you are in a rental and then the landlord, hopefully would be happy to do it??? That is a problem we had-with a 6 inx9 inch mail box. There was ALOT that didn't fit in it, so the mail person wrote a note and "suggested" we get a bigger mail boxes..so we did!

Sorry I forgot to include that We can have large packages left in the main office. I could leave a note for the PO delivery person for that. Getting my mail at the PO is not possible with my insane work hours.

But. . . if the mail person can't bent it, isn't it going to be taken back to your post office anyway?  Or is there somewhere else for him to leave it?
