I am so confused. What kind of RC is this? Should I accept? or maybe it is a bad sign?

Edit: The book in question is wish-listed and there are others on the list.

I am someone of low expectations. You will find it hard to not meet them.

I am generous and kind to most people I meet, knowing that each of us carries our own sorrows. I have discovered I am not perfect and have stopped expecting perfection from others. I hold books in the highest of esteem and therefore, even the lowliest of them would find a place next to my heart if you are able to send me a book I have requested. I love being able to swap books and hope that PBS will not become perfect only!

Well....my first thought is she's trying to tell you that she will accept any book.

But my second (and cynical) thought is she is using "reverse psychology" to get you to send a better book because she's a generous and kind person. Or to cover her tracks if she does RWAP a lot.

I know some people are afraid of all RCs...but I would say in this case, if your book meets PBS standards, send it on! There is no way she can mark it RWAP - requester conditions not met, because she says there is virtually no way to not meet her standards.

Either way, this is very odd.

Accept it as long as your book meets PBS standards.  I think this person is basically saying they are not nit-picky.

Sounds to me that they're happy to take the book in any condition.  Definitely an odd one though.

I would send the book too.  And I agree that it sounds like she's saying that she'll accept most anything.

Send it. It looks to me like she(or he) is trying to be eloquent in saying she is not picky and is putting down those with RCs.  Even if she wasn't meaning what she says literally, what is there stated to say you didn't meet? The only request I see in there is to send it. If she marked a book RWP - didn't meet conditions, I think the site take up the issue.

OK, I think I will send it.

The book meets PBS conditions. I wouldn't have posted it if it didn't.

I think she's saying she'll accept unpostable books, but I could be wrong.

love being able to swap books and hope that PBS will not become perfect only!

This says to me that it's someone who is tired of the "like new" RCs and has built sort of an "anti" RC.  I've seen a couple people post here that they were or would likt to do that.  I agree that the requestor is just saying she just loves books and wants one she can read.  Chances are she WILL take unpostables, but I certainly am not advocating posting them! ;-)

I completely agree Beth.  Someone is trying to be nice and let others know that.    I don't see any reason to read anything backhanded or ugly into it.   I think she is saying "I'll be happy to get your book and look forward to reading it."      I'd love getting that RC and find someone who wants books and has a sense of humor about the whole thing.

I would accept this one.  If she marked it RWP what grounds would she have since she said she's not picky and will take any book.

I agree with Beth that this is someone making a statement against really picky RCS.

I would definitely accept - She seems pretty laid-back to me.

I'd refuse because A) I probably wouldn't waste time reading all that and if I actually did, I'd refuse because B) it doesn't really list any requestor conditions and sounds like vague, wandering, unclear ramblings of someone who's under the influence  C) I'm having hot flashes and am crabby as all hell and not into tolerating silly BS and I don't want my books going to the homes of people crazier than I am. So there! :o)

Odd RC , but I would definitely accept it.  Maybe she is trying to be funny?  But, it sounds like it will be a good swap.

I wish people would keep statements like this to their profile, the header above their bookshelf, or their signature line. It's a nice statement, but it isn't a requestor condition and can result in unnessisary confusion.

Also, while it's nice that this person thinks any and all books are worthy of their credits, I just hope they understand that not everyone feels this way, and are only re-posting books that meet site conditions.

It would scare me 'cause its an RC, but I'd send it. I THINK she does not understand the function of RCs, and is trying to say that any book she wants to read she would be happy to have, even in unpostable condition. I have seen someone with a message to that effect in their journals, referring to their wish list.

I think it's really bizarre, and might be tempted to reject it based on that, but he/she sounds laid-back overall.  Weird.
