When I look at my settings, I see my newest RC which includes desire for dust covers for some HCs I added this month to my WL plus  some Clancy books that were available to order.  But yesterday I received one of them without a dust cover-- so far no answer to my PM to the sender--now I wonder how long a new RC takes to actually load soooooo maybe the sender didn't see the new RC before responding to my request?

I don't know about new RCs, but a few months ago I posted a WL book and it was on auto-request.  Great!  Except it had the automatic RC for APO addresses, and it did not show up until AFTER I accepted the request.  I have no problems mailing to APO addresses, but that particular week was super busy, I hadn't planned a trip to the post office, and wasn't sure I could get there before the deadline.  I just chalked it up to a freaky glitch and let it go, but maybe RCs aren't showing up all the time?

I thought I had read you could see what, if any, RC was attached to any transaction?

Sassy, you're right.  Jeanne, if you go to your Transaction Archive and click "Request Details" (on the right side of the transaction) you'll see if your RC's were attached to the request.

The RCs go into effect right when you click the button to turn them on. They apply only to orders that have not yet accepted. So, if an order is in process, it will not apply. If an offer has been made, but not yet accepted, it will apply.

The RCs can be seen by both the sender and the receiver. It will be in the order details.

Hmmmmm, I added this line to my RC before the order was accepted by the sender in question, but it doesn't show up in the RC listed in the transaction, only in my current RCs.  So there must be a significant delay from the time you type in an RC before it actually becomes visiable to others.

It has to do with where you are in the order process. On the idea that we cannot change orders in process. Or auto-request orders.

Plus there is the button below that needs to be clicked on to update. That button has messed me up. The field looks fine, but hasn't updated.

There's no delay once you've set your Requester Conditions. If they didn't show on your request, go your settings page, and where it says "I will only accept books under certain conditions", make sure that's toggled to "Yes", then hit "update request settings" right below that. Your RCs will then show on any future requests. As Emily said, it won't change any orders that are already in process.

ah, Emily, I think you've hit the nail on the head.  I don't always click the 'update' button.

on a related note I have gone through a long series of requests with rcs on them. I seem to go through periods where I don't see any and then every request has them.

Charles, I frequently see the 'no smoking' RC like I have, but not many others.
