I have recieved 320 books, and of those i have had to mark 3 as rwap. This last one didn't even try the whole " but I recieved that way" or" its still readable". They went straight  for the attack.   This is the reply to my wanting my credit returned-     I was made aware that you often ask for your credits back regardless of how nice the used book is. If you need some extra credits to order books, I will be happy to share, but please do not mark me down for a problem swap when that isn't true. I was meticulous with your swap because of the forewarnings I had received and sure enough you nevertheless marked me down as an irresponsible swapper.      The book is water damaged the whole top third is stiff,  wavy and you can see the water stain.  Thanks for letting me rant.

They were "made aware" huh? lol

That's a new one. S/he's on the inside track. All special like. Ylour evil plan has been revealed. You are rendered powerless.

Ok seriously. I'd just restate the problem, give them a time limit on returning the credit, then mark it unresolved if they continue to use their special powers against you. If they continue to be rude, there's also no reason that you couldn't turn the tables by reporting their behavior to the admins.

I guess it takes all kinds and somesuch. Sheesh.

I would just reply that the PBS team knows your trading record, and if she does not wish to return your credit that is her choice but that the book was water damaged (offer pictures if you can do so) and was indeed RWAP, and you will mark the transaction as "unresolved." And then leave it at that. Don't get into a pissing contest with her, and be polite. Let it go.

Farmboy, I got one of those that said almost the same exact thing.  Let me PM you her name.

I contacted a Tour Guide and they said in no way would that information (how many RWAPs you make/credit returns) be shared with anyone else.

ETA because I forgot...

At the end of the discussion with the TG, I opted to mark it as unresolved and decline to respond - at all.  I felt very threatened by their message and decided that not engaging the crazy was the best option.   If it is the same person, then PBS should do something about it.  Someone actively lying and falsifying information in order to bully/threaten a member into dropping a RWAP doesn't sit well with me.

LOL Lisa  yes

What Cheryl said.

You are correct Michelle (and so is your TG), no such information is available outside PBS admin.  I don't believe even the Tour Guides and other official volunteers have access to that type of info.  Members are actively discouraged (and penalized) for posting individual names and nicknames in the discussion threads.  That's part of what makes the pm so very silly.

My wife reads the fourms all the time and told me how to word it. I told the person there is no way to know to know how often a person asks for a credit back. I restated that the book was not repostable because of the damage, I want my credit back to get a book I can repost when I'm done. I want the credit by the 21st , and I will mark it resolved when they return the credit.  My wife says if they don't return the credit ,on the 22nd mark it unresolved . She says I am helping to weed out bad swappers.

You've gone above and beyond Claude.  I honestly probably would have just marked it unresolved and hoped that many other people do in the future so that this person is booted.  Totally not worth the frustration.

Denise is correct.  Not even Tour Guides have access to info about the statistics of swappers.   Only the PBS admin.   All of our "personal" info is held very close and private.

PBS will come down and erase forum posts if anyone names names.

I heartyour wife.

And you may want to let the PBS Admin folks know about her claim.  If, as MikeyLou suggests, someone is sending out that message multiple times with bad books, or if several people are sending out the same "I was made aware..." thing, the Admin Team may want to look into that.  If it's true -- say several members discussed something through PMs, I suppose it would be okay.  But if it's invented, which seems likely given your sending record, It might be intimidating to newer members.  The Admin Team could see if the person is sending out that message on a regular basis.  Even if you don't want to take this any further yourself, letting them know could protect other members.

To talk to the administrators, go to the bottom right corner of any page, and under "company" click on "contact us."  Use the Feedback option there.

And it might help you to post a picture of the book on photobucket and include a link in the PM.

Hi I am Mrs Farmboy, Thank you all for the kind words about me (lol). He didn't get his credit back so it was marked unresolved. I read the fourms all the time and I have been a member for more than 5 years. I think the fourms should be required reading because I learn new stuff all the time here.  I don't post often because I hate to type and am one of the worlds worst spellers. The part my husband didn't tell was the care she took with the swap. The book was wrapped in a plastic bag to keep it dry (but it was already water damaged and dry so I know it didn't happen enroute) It was wrapped in a page from an atlas and closed with buy one get one free stickers no tape at all. One end was opened up I'm surprised it made it here. It was also sent 13 days after it was marked mailed. It is this kind of swapper we don't need at PBS.  Happy New Year and happy reading!

I agree 100% with that sentiment!
