Not interesting to me - didn't get through it.

Second of four in Updike's Rabbit series including Rabbit Run, Rabbit Redux, Rabbit is Rich and Rabbit at Rest. In my view this series is Updike's masterwork, at least measured by its impact on me. By the time I was halfway through Rabbit At Rest, the only word for the cumulative effect that comes to mind is searing. Its artistic achievement was that it constituted, in fact compelled, a thorough examination of conscience, while at the same time had me laughing all the way through, or maybe it was more like whistling past the graveyard.
