God accepts us as we are, we can go to Him as ragamuffins - dirty, bedraggled, and beat-up. Manning's now-classic meditation on grace has changed thousands of lives. it will change yours, too.

Nicely written with down to earth subject matter. Good for those who struggle with feeling "good enough" for God's love.

This book has incredible insight and is visually stimulating. A very compelling read that looks like easy reading from the outside but has a big impact once it is opened and actually read through.

Pretty interesting paralleling of "real people" and religion.

This is an awesome book that showed the unyielding and ever present love that God has for us - whether we accept it or not. His furious love for us is all around and all encompassing. The story of the prodigal son takes on meaning and true understanding. Highly recommended reading.

IMHO, this book weighs too heavily towards the side of grace in the great balance of grace and works. Overwhelming Grace is a wonderful place to start, but we should strive for holiness. Great writer, but... wouldn't read it again and would be hesitant to recommend it to anyone searching for answers

This is absolutely one of the best books on grace I have ever had the pleasure of reading. Even today, I still draw out portions of it to reread and encourage others in their relationship with Christ. A wonderful book for those struggling with legalism, or just for the average joe who needs to know that we can't go about pleasing God because, as His beloved children, we have already gained His full pleasure. Beautiful!

Not a "easy reading" book. A friend of mine recommended this book (as well as the "furios longing of God") to me about a month ago when we were discussing some pretty heavy life stuff. This is an awesome read, no matter who or what you belief in. (I recommend reading with some of Leo Buscagila's "Love" books.)

Manning makes the gospel message accessible to all people and reminds us that despite our shortcomings and failures, we are dearly, dearly loved. This is a life-changing read. Makes an excellent gift for the seeker.
