I loved this book! McInerney is a great author, who paints vivid descriptions, three-dimensional characters, and a wonderful story.

Ransom is a haunting and well-written novel, which should appeal to students of Japan, the martial, or the restless souls of human beings. It is a particularly American novel, one that speaks directly to our national loneliness and our deep-seated need to come home.
