I've just finished Charlaine Harris' All Together Dead.   But there's a conversation between Sookie and Barry that I didn't understand.   Maybe I read it too fast.   So, if you've read this maybe you can explain this to me:

After the hotel explosion, Sookie and Barry have met with Mr.Cataliades.  Barry wants to get on the plane out of town, and back home.    Sookie says that she doesn't want to get on the plane "with them."    There's some talk about payback.   Then Barry says to Sookie:   "Maybe I don't want to get on the plane with you."

I didn't get it.  What did Sookie do that offended Barry?

I've tried to make the post as general as possible, as not to spoil the story for anybody.    Please PM me if you can help me out.

Hmmm....I read it when it first came out and would have to reread that part to see what I thought.  Do you know about what page it was on?

Betsy: Barry was referring to the fact that she "allowed" or encouraged revenge... It's been a while, so I can't remember the character names, but her love interest does in a bad guy, and she enables it to happen. It wasn't an act of self-defense; it was a calculated strike. Barry's opinion of her changes based on how she perceives her involvement, because he picks the scene out of her mind, with her guilt tainting it. At least, that's what I remember...

Lorien's take on it is what I assumed as well.

Thanks everybody.  I love Charlaine Harris.  I think I was so excited to find out the ending that I wasn't paying attention to some details.    I am going to have to go back and read the last part of the book.

I'm envious.  Since finishing All Together Dead, I've decided to buy From Dead to Worse in hardback.. and not wait for paperback!
