Are you receiving more requests for books than you did during the summer? This afternoon, so far, I've received requests for 4 books and there are 2 more WL'ed books waiting to be accepted. And it's ony Saturday! :-)

The thought crossed my mind that maybe readers are stocking up for the Winter much like squirrels do with acorns. My TBR pile is higher then it's ever been  and there are 5 more books on their way to me.

I've also noticed that I read more "light stuff" in the summer but now I'm ordering books that are a bit deeper and more complicated...much like I'd happily eat a tuna sandwich in the Summer but, come January, I want something more substantial like beef stew!

So...am I the only one around here decended from squirrels??????  ;-)

heehee..so funny, but it is so true.  I always have a great stock going on but winter does seem to call for more cozy time with a book and a blanket.

I always stock up for the summer.  I teach elementary school and therefore have free time to read in the summer.  Also, there is never anything good on TV is the summer.  Summer is my time to read, read, read.

I read year-around, but have noticed that I have been ordering more the last 10 days or so...it is definitely a "stocking-up" syndrome!  On a cold, snowy day, I like have a variety of things to choose from, so my TBR pile grows in the winter.  I also tend to start stocking up on food and necessities more than I do in the summer...so if we have a blizzard I don't feel like I have to shlep out to the store...so guess I am a card-carrying squirrel!

Monday morning I mailed out 9 books and one more went this morning! So I'm sticking with my theory of readers being like squirrels. ;-) Trust me, having squirrel-like tendencies is not a bad thing...I have 7 books heading my way! At least we plan ahead. You won't catch us in Borders the night before a predicted snowstorm stocking up on things to read!

I'm not a big fan of Winter, I much prefer the beach to snow. But there's something really nice about a pile of books, a soft blanket and a pot of tea on  a cold day.

So here's a salute to all us "Squirrels"! Long may we read.

I read pretty much non-stop, but I have been getting a lot more frequent requests for books.  And once people start requesting Christmas themed books you know the weather's changed.

I just posted about this in CMT yesterday.  August was an excellent month for orders for me.  I don't think I've ever had that good a month even when I've run a deal.

Squirrel here ! I have 26 books on the way to me and have mailed out 24 with 4 to still be mailed! And I have only been on this site about 3 weeks or so! I have a huge bookshelf PACKED with stuff to read I think I would call myself a squirrel with a serious problem! But like I tell my husband eventually they will all get read by someone!

I read all year, but I have noticed a major up-tick in the books being requested from me. I feel like I have lived at the post office this past week!
