I am looking for some information to be able to help my neighbor's daughter.  She is 18 and her parents pulled her out of school as she has a reading comprehension problem.  She wants to go to Job Corps, but to do that, she has to have a reading comprehension level of at least 12th grade.  I was looking to start at Kindergarten and go up through the levels to see where she actually was.  Are there any good sites where I can get tests or questions based on books and then have her go to the library and get the books so we can read them together and answer the questions?  Any and all info on how to help a person improve their reading comprehension would be great.

Here are some online resources that might  be useful for you.  This first one has a variety of tutorials, reading passages and comprehension practice for grades 1-5.  There are online worksheets and downloadable ones as well.

There are also all kinds of resources available for specific books to help with comprehension skills.  Find a book she can read comfortably, then search out that particular book.  Look for books with reader's circle questions in the back or see if they are available online. 

Just a couple of suggestions off the top of my head.  Hopefully others will post with more ideas for you.  I think it's great that you're willing to help her out.  You might also want to check with the Adult Literacy League in your area and see what they suggest, too.
