Second installment in the "Reads Like Murder" series by G. Donovan. Like the first book, there are some editing issues, but the story is very enjoyable. Picks up in Hawaii where mystery bookstore owner is opening a new store after inheriting an estate from an old friend. She is quickly involved in all sorts of mayhem, along with her HPD boyfriend. Very enjoyable read and a nice follow-up to the first book. Third installment due out this spring (2014).
I found this small press publication to be a great read. I enjoyed this book, second in the author's Hawaii mystery series, very much. Compared to the first in the series - Reads Like Murder in Honolulu - there are much less editing problems, so this book reads much smoother than its predecessor.
Another well-crafted storyline with good character development and sense of location. And what better location than Hawaii!?
There is supposedly another installment, set on the Big Island, which was announced to be published in 2011; however, I have looked all over the internet and cannot fine anywhere to buy it. Perhaps it never got published?
