As much as I loved the book, the villian fell way too easy - a little more suspense at the end would have been good - the fire between Lise and Joshua was incredibly intense

Not a bad read. You do get both characters POV's...
I liked the h, though the H's issues seemed to be a bit contrived (and there were definitely some moments where I wanted to kick him!). I will admit I abandoned this book mid way through, and couldn't pick it up again for two weeks(and about 6 books). The plot isn't terribly original, but it was a pretty easy book to get through (minus the 2 week hiatus).

Secondary characters were interesting, but didn't take focus away from the main characters. And while I don't generally have an opinion on book covers, I loved the one for this book! It doesn't really match my idea of the H, but it was nice to look at. Honestly, It might be the most original part of the novel!

First book in Monroe's Mercenary series. The heroine is being stalked and the hero decides she needs a bodyguard. Good start to series.

Wow! This is my first book by Lucy Monroe, and I loved it! I can't wait to read the rest of the trilogy.

Love the story, light, quick, steamy. Only complaint is she skirts away the bad language that most military types use...bugged me, that and the repeated use of the word turgid.

Great Hero afraid of love!

They're the good guys fighting the bad guys. They'll get the job done- if the price is right and so is the cause. Meet three sexy men who individually are READY, WILLING, and ABLE to go the distance and together are unstopable

This contemporary erotic romance by Lucy Monroe is the first in a trilogy. After "Ready," comes "Williing, and "And Able." Of course. I have all three but haven't finished reading the other two yet, so if someone is interested, please let me know.

This is the first book in a series of three and introduced all three of the main characters. Joshua (Wolf), Hotwire and Nitro. This was a good story about a writer who was being stalked. They are the elite in a group of mercenaries who are used to protecting innocent victims. Joshua's sister is married to Lise's brother.

Lise is a writer who has somehow acquired a stalker. Moving from Texas to Washington state didn't shake him from her trail but she's hoping it's kept her brother, his wife and their new baby safe since they're still back down home. But in the meantime she's terrified and just barely coping. Her refusal to go home for Thanksgiving, however, and her inability to give her brother a reason he can understand churns up a bit of worry on the home front. Her sister-in-law's brother, Joshua, has decided that he's the reason she won't come home. He made a pass at her, one she didn't welcome, and is sure she's now avoiding him. But when he shows up on her doorstep and nearly gets beaned with a poker he realizes Lise is in trouble. As an ex-Army Ranger trouble is right up his alley and he immediately takes charge of the situation. She accepts his help, unwillingly at first and then gratefully, but works hard to prevent any physical involvement between them. He is willing to break his own rules and get involved physically but determined to avoid any emotional entanglement. The developing love affair between them heats up the pages well and the author keeps the pace swift. This is the first book of a trilogy and an enjoyable example of a modern action/romance.

A good, fun read in a first book in the Mercenary series. The main characters are reluctantly drawn to one another, but as is predictable, they come together and with the exception of her stalker, women would love to meet a guy like this. Love the family relationship, her support system. We meet the characters of book 2, Willing and book 3, and Able. Their camaraderie makes you look forward to ready the other books. All three books are a good read for women and men equally.
