Hi Everyone so back in Nov we went back to the states on vacation and I saw in BORDERS a book series I wanted to read. I can not for the life of me remember the title or author of the books...Basically there are anywheres from 4-8 books in the series. It was in the fiction section and was written in the early 1900's by a male author. The books are about a young woman and dealing with society. If this sounds familiar to anyone any help will be great:) |

Do you remember anything else about them? Publisher, what the covers looked like, what particular genre (classics, YA, etc)? There weren't a lot of series books for adults written back then although they were common for the YA audience. Did all the books have the same main character? |

The only series of books I can think of about a young woman, written for adults, in the early 20th century, is Colette's Claudine books (which are excellent!), but certainly not written by a man. ETA - Or maybe E.F. Benson's Lucia books? I think there are 6 or 7 of them. They are hilarious and are still the only books that have ever caused me to miss my subway stop.
