Wow, is all I can say after reading this non-fiction book. It's so, sooooo twisted, you'll wonder how this murder was ever solved, but riviting to keep you wanting to know whether David Brown was guilty or if he was really innocent. Keeps you guessing from the first page and drags you in further until you come to the last page.
A Great Read!

I love Ann Rule's books. Rule writes about true-life murders and mysteries. Her books are well-written and keep your attention from beginning to end. It is amazing how evil people can be. In this case, a father convinces his 14 year old daughter to admit to murdering her stepmother. The question is, did she do it or did he do it himself?

Could he be evil enough to not only murder another human being, but to ask his young daughter to take the blame and give up her own life? There will be times when you will believe that either one of them might be guilty and that belief may weigh heavily on either side. You'll want to get to the end to find the answer.

This is one of those "can't put it down", "kept me up until late at night" books, but most of Ann Rule's books are like that. She is an excellent writer. I'm always delighted when she has a new book published. The only problem with her books is deciding who is going to get to read them first - my husband or I?

I can't believe this man (David Arnold Brown) one of the main characters in this book. I love the way Ann (author) takes the facts and events and make it into a story. I was interested throughtout the entire book.

This guy was totally twisted and after reading the book you really did want to find out what happened to everyone . . . love true crime . . . this was my first book by her - I found it to be a little long, but well researched. I would pick up another book by her based on this one.

Another of Ann Rule's true crime stories at its best. You will be toataly amazed at what this man got away with and controlled his children and step children to do for him while he sat back and collected the money and got off scott free for years. A cant put it down book
