I received a bad mark for a book I sent someone because it was a previously used library book and it was very old with yellowed pages. They had not put any conditions on their request. I sent several PM's explaining the PBS rules to them, but they refused to remove the bad mark. Is there anything I can do about it? It's rather frustrating because they were in the wrong. Rachel |

Hey Rachel. Don't let it trouble you too much. To be honest, these things just happen sometimes. The "marks" on people's accounts aren't nearly so bad as people tend to think. If you develop a pattern of problem swaps, this sort of thing might reflect on your status as a member, but by and large it's almost expected that the occasional mistake will occur, whether on your part or that of members with whom you swap, Additionally, PBS is able to see the exchange between you and the other member, and if it's as you describe then it will be fairly obvious that you're still an upstanding member. |

Since the requestor didn't have an RC regarding ex-library books, she shouldn't have marked the book as a RWAP, and should respond to the RWAP as marked in error. It sounds like she isn't going to do that. As long as you responded to her pm that she didn't have an ex-library book RC, then the PBS team will see that if they ever check up on it. Don't worry about it and move on, she was in the wrong. |

It's also nice to remember that although your account can be temporarily suspended by the system, that every review happens by a real live person from the Team. So everything is taken into consideration, including your exchange about the condition. |

One bad mark is not going to hurt you and, if the PBS team ever looks into it, they'll see the PM exchange. At this point, all you can do is move on and let it go. |

I got a mark for not sending the dust cover on a hardback book, they had no request. When I told them that they said they did not know but never went back and changed it |
