It is not repostable. You have to determine if the package got wet while it was in transit or if the pages got wet before shipping. If it got wet in transit you would mark it "RWAP -- damaged by USPS". If you think it had water damage before it was mailed to you, mark it "RWAP -- damaged by sender" or whatever the exact wording is. If it is damaged by sender, definitely ask for your credit back.

For more information, go to the Help Center and look up "I received a damaged book" or words to that effect -- the Help Center will completely outline the process.

Not postable.  Was the book still wet when it arrived in your mail, or just obviously damaged?

No looks like it was already dried long time ago, not via UPS.  I was stunned that someone would post this knowing that if water damage we can't post.

Unfortunately some people don't know.  I was speaking with a friend of mine who is also a PBS swapper and mentioned that I had a WL book, but couldn't post it because it had what looked like water damage on a couple of pages.  She obviously never looked at the posting requirements because she didn't know any water damage made a book unpostable.

I got one a while back and when I told the sender it was damaged she denied it and would not give me my credit back. This has happened twice in the last 2 weeks and neither party has returned my credit.

And I received a book last week that had highlighting in it. Reported it at received with a problem and they asked me to return the book and they would give me TWO credits back.  I am hoping they are honest and will indeed do that.  I didn't use tracking on the shipping when I mailed it back. I'm thinking I should have!

They are supposed to return your credit plus the mailing cost credit before you mail it back.

Nancy, next time, let the other member know that they are required to refund your original credit and also cover the return postage back BEFORE you mail the book back to them.

That's clearly stated in the PBS rules, so you will be able to cut/paste from the rules if this situation ever happens again.

On the rare occasion that I do get an RWAP book, I immediately take pictures and send a link to them in my RWAP message describing the damage.  Figure it preempts anyone calling me a liar.

Thanks for all the responses! Very helpful. She instantly refunded me credit.

@ Nancy, sorry to hear that, such a headache to worry about who you are dealing with.

I had a little water damage to a book I received.  Just two pages were a little wavy.  I didn't ask for my credit back because those pages don't happen to have writing where the damage is-- I'm just sad that I can't get rid of it now.

Nancy: Good luck with the credits! I'm hoping it'll work out for you! :)
