I am wondering how many books are lost in the mail? I have not received 5 books in the last 6 months. Do other people not receive books this often? One book I did not receive. I marked as reeived, 3 books I got back my credit on and one is still missing. None of the books I mail out get lost, at least so far. Let me know if others are not getting this amount. Thanks, Charlene

Why did you mark it received if you didn't get it?

ETA:  I've only had 3 books go lost enroute to me the whole time-2 never showed and 1 showed about a week later.  I've never had a book I've sent go lost but I know it will eventually happen.

In 3 1/2 years I've had 5 books I mailed go lost......  2 of those in the last 6 months and 1 was marked received 6 months after I mailed it.  I've also had 5 books I ordered go lost....  and 1 of those I'd bet money was just never really mailed.

Sent  = 272
Received = 345
Plus many, many books swapped in games.

Sent = 0 lost
Received = 1 lost (2 books were sent to me in manilla envelope w/o tape. 1 of the books was lost when the envelope tore open during shipping)

You've experienced an unusually high rate of loss, IMO!  I'm so sorry!

I have had 3 of 10 books coming to me in past 9 months get lost, but they were just very late so when they finally arrived the credit was given back to the sender..

In DEC I had my first book go lost that I mailed and it only had to travel 2 hours towards Chicago--I'm still hoping it shows up and just

got misplaced in the holiday mail.  It was a brand new WL book that I bought and read and immediately posted and my first experience with a much

desired book!

I had one book arrive in the last week of December.  It was post marked August.  That made my lost book count go from 3 to 2.  Out of 612 books.  (286 rec'vd, 334 sent)

That is not counting the slow books from AK or HI, which get declared lost, then show up.  If any of those travel over water by media mail, they may be going by boat.  Very slow boats.

If you have a high number, one thing you can do is speak to your local postmaster about it.

Out of about 45 requests that I made, 3 have been permanently lost in the mail. I say permanently, because it's been 6+ months since

I've had one that I requested (it was a 4-1 deal, so actually 4) go lost in the mail a couple of months ago and so far, (knock on wood), nothing I've sent has gone lost.  Hopefully I didn't just jinx myself by saying it out loud!  LOL

I've had 37 go lost to me since I've joined, 9 of them were in one box I don't think was ever mailed.

Only one I've sent out has ever gone lost.

I've never gotten an email from PBS about it, so I don't worry about it too much.

Sometimes they seem to go in waves. I think more go lost during the spring and fall for me more than other times of the year.

In almost three years (and over 2,000 books) I think I've had two go lost coming to me and one go lost that I mailed. So that's pretty good odds. Both of those books (one was a group of books actually) coming to me I doubt were ever mailed because of the attitude of the sender on one and the problems prior on the other.
