One of the best things about PBS is discovering books that you did not even know existed, taking a chance and discovering a gem. I saw someone mention it in passing on one of the discussion boards so I took a chance and wishlisted it. The book is Aaron Lansky's book Outwitting History on saving Yiddish books. I thought the idea of saving books was interesting but really made the book was Aaron Lansky's ability to paint work pictures of the various characters he ran into. I am not Jewish but I laughed at all the interesting people he ran into. I gave the book to my husband to read and he kept stopping because he had to read a section aloud to me to share the laughs. What unusual books have you found? Extra points if they made you laugh out loud. |

I just finished reading Crashing Through: A Man Who Dared to See. And unbelievable true story about a man who got his eyesight back after 43 years of blindness. |
