I picked up this book thinking it was recipes that actually pertained to the movie, good old-fashioned Iowa home cooking - and there are some that fit that bill, like Scalloped Iowa Corn, Oven Fried Chicken, Marinated Flank Steak... but there's also Lobster Gazpacho? Shrimp & Feta Pasta Salad? Come to find out, it's a combination of meals represented in the film as well as what the caterers fed the actors on set. That's why the Chicken Fried Steak was actually Chicken Fried Chicken... Anyway, it's a nice little book, 111 pages, mostly recipes. I think I would have liked this better if it included some photography of Iowa, covered bridges and also the food.
I loved the book and I thought that since I love cook books I would enjoy one related to the other book. I did enjoy this cookbook and have already made a couple recipes from this cookbook.
