My 88 year old mother loves book series like Mitford, Philip Gulley, Butternut Creek, Essential Ingredients and I just ordered her the Cape Light series.  I have a lot of credits so would like to stock her up.  She doesn't hear well so she loves to read.  Anyone have any other series like these she might like?  She doesn't care for mysteries.   Thanks.

Try the Heavenly Daze series as well as the Grace Chapel Inn series.

I'm not familiar with any of those except the Mitford series.  Does she read Debbie Macomber?  That's the only author that comes to mind, and she's got tons of books out there.

Another one is the Fairhaven series by Jarvis and the Covington Ladies series by Joan Medlicott.  Hope you find something she likes.  Drop a quick note/update on here and let us know what you decided or picked.

Thank you so much!  She has read and liked the Heavenly Daze series.  I think I'm going to get her the Fairhaven Chronicles series.  Thanks, Priscilla!

Theresa, I can also recommend the Dearest Dorothy series by Baumbich, The Homegrown novels by Julie Cannon and the FairAcres series by Effie Wilder.  And if she has not read it yet, do get her a copy of Fannie Flagg's Can't Wait To Get To Heaven, a wonderfully hilarious book.

Just thought I'd let you know that I started her on the Dearest Dorothy series.  Dorothy is her age, 88, and she loves it!  Says she can relate to a lot of things.   I was able to get 3 out of the series of six that were posted and the other 3 are available in the marketplace.  I'm going to wait a few days and see if any of the 3 are posted and if not I'll buy them from the marketplace.
