I'm not talking about re-using priority mail boxes, which is a no-no. I have a cardboard box that previously held a Lego set. Very colorful, shall we say. This box did not previously contain any food or dangerous material items. So, is it necessary to cover the entire box in brown wrapping paper instead of just securely taping the PBS label on it? No, it should be fine. Just obscure any barcodes and make sure the side where you put the label can be easily determined. But, that said, I usually turn boxes like that inside out. Carefully open all flaps and open the seam. Invert and re-glue the seam. Maybe tape it too to reinforce. Then refold/tape flaps. Works like a charm since you end up with a completely blank box. I do this too when I need to wrap presents and have to find an appropriately sized box but don't want to have the logos al over the outside.

I do the same as Linda. Just turn it inside out and re-tape the seam and you'll have a nice plain box. |

I like to cover most of the box when they have bright patterns, I just tape a piece of printer paper wherever it will cover the most area.

Another box inverter here. Always make sure to use good quality shipping tape. Never had a problem. |

I don't even reverse the boxes-- PO said it's ok as long as orig box was not for any of the "No-no" items like flammables, oil, batteries, etc. I've used diaper boxes, shoe boxes, boxes from Sam's Club that contained multiple packages of a food product, even pretty boxes that originally contained name brand chocolates! |
